When God is doing a new thing it may not make sense, it may be uncomfortable, it may not come how you want it or when you want it, it may not look like what you want; but when He is doing a new thing, you have got to trust in God and let him do what He plans to do because He alone is God.
It didn't make sense to the Jews that they were looking for a king a Messiah and they saw Him crucified but yet He was not only their king but the King of Kings. It didn't make sense to them that He had to die so that they could live. To the human mind that doesn't make sense at all. It didn't make sense that a blind man from birth (whom all thought was blind because of his parents had sinned) was actually blind so that God's glory could be manifestd through him. "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life". (John 9:3) Did you get that, he was blind so that the "work of God might be manifested in his life". It didn't make sense I'm sure when Jesus, who could heal with a touch, or a word actually spit on the floor, made a paste out of his spit and the dirt and put it on the blind man's eyes and told him to GO, wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man didn't pull back when Jesus did this, he didn't ask why he needed to wash in the pool but instead washed in the pool and went home seeing. Note, Jesus didn't explailn why he was to wash in that pool but yet the man did as he was told and received a blessing. How many times God is telling us something and we are waiting for the "why"? How many times does God say GO and we are waiting to hear what's going to happen, how is it going to happen, is this how I'm going to get my blessing, is this going to lead to my prayer being answerd. Lord this sure doesn't look like what I'm looking for, this doesn't look like what I want Lord but yet God is saying GO!!!! GO, GO GO!! But sometimes we don't go. We don't go because it may not look like what we expected or what we wanted or how we wanted it or because it may just be uncomfortable and yet God is saying GO. Oh but the blessings that come when we finally let go and let God. Only God can make a "way in the desert". Only God can heal the hurts and pains that we have. Only God can fill those voids in our lives that we've tried to fill with drugs, alcohol, men, woman, sex, money. Only God can truly bring the NEW things, only God can be the true light onto our path. But before He can do any of those things, we have to ALLOW Him to do so, we have to TRUST Him to do so and the only way we can really allow Him is to trust Him and the only way we can really trust Him is when we KNOW Him as our father. Is He your father?? Do you have that kind of relationship with him? If not, pray and ask God to forgive for your sins and make you new, make you His child.
I've been a Christian now for 12 years and it has not been an easy 12 years but the one thing that has been made clear to me by the Spirit of the living God is that when you know Him, when you have a relationship with Him, then your life is really not your own. So the 12 years have not been easy but today I learned a new thing that as Jesus said in John 9:3, my life has been what it has been so that "the work of God may be displayed in my life". Bottom line, it's not about me, but it's about God and what He wants to do through me to reach others, to touch others. Sometimes when God wants to do a new thing, it really doesn't make sense but you truly just have to let go and let God and know that in the long run, He is in control and will make rivers spring up in your deserts. If you know God, if you trust God then there is no reason to settle for second best unless you are trying to do it on your own because as His word says in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Choose today will you allow God to do the NEW THINGS in your life or will you hold onto the past, that which is comfortable, that which is familiar. Don't give up tomorrow's joys and blessings for today's "feel good" moments.
Thank you Lord Jesus for your revelation today.
