So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the LORD Almighty, their God. It just touches me so that the Lord is the one that stirred up the spirit of the remnant people. If you are one of those remnant people when God stirs up your spirit you must respond. Yes you may want to try and do things your way, you may try to take your time, you may not heed to all what God is asking of you when he's asking you but if you are one of those remnant, He, the Lord, will not leave you alone until you go where He's told you to go, you connect to those He wishes you to be connected to and you do what He's called you to do. The bottom line is that you can't get away so you might as well just give up, submit and do it God's way.
Hmm, now when you make up your mind and TRULY make that covenant with God (as one of his remnanat people) to do things His way you can expect major fiery darts coming at you from Satan. Satan doesn't want you doing what God has called you to do. Most of us want things our way, we want to be comfortable and doing things God's way is not usually the most comfortable way. I can testify to that in so many ways. But as uncomfortable as I was in those situations and as painful as they might have been, sometimes even humbling, God was faitfhful. When I did as He asked He showed me His faithfulness. Well it seems I'm in one of those places again. He has asked me to be obedient even though what He's doing makes no sense to me nor did I think this would be the way it would come. I'm basically being obedient and trusting in Him that He will honor my obedience. I don't know what He plans to do but I do know the word says that He has a plan and a purpose for me (Jeremiah 26:11). So as I said when I first started this blog, this is a new beginning and Jesus is at the wheel.
I know I'm one of those remnant people God has called to work on the house of the Lord. I'm thinking Lord, I need some work in me so how am I going to work on the house of the Lord. But God is saying come and watch me do great and mighty things. The Hebrew word from remnanat is "shehayreeth" and it means - "a remainder or residual (surviving, final) portion;- that had escaped. A remnant is one who has gone through wilderness after wilderness but is still waiting on God for that great move of God. The remanant people are hungry for God and want 100% of God's word - not any watered down gospel, or make you feel good gospel. Remnant people have had enough of "just doing church" and want to see God's power, want to see the "greater works we will do". Remnanat people are crying to see God's glory and are ready to do the work of the Lord.
I'm His remnanat, I've survived, I've escaped Satan's schemes and attacks and the Lord has stirred up my spirit. I can't play games with this. He has called me, He has said it's time, it's time to use my gifts to bring Him glory, it's time to use my gifts to help build His church. It's time and Jesus is at the wheel.
Thank you Lord.
