This has been an amazing week and I must just thank the Lord. First of all as some of you may know my job just merged in an "equal" merger with another company. As a result there has been a lot of angst over possible job loss. I myself, for a time, fell into that trap of worry. But thank God for his wake up call to remind me that He is my provider and will take care of me and I need not worry. He took me back to Matthew 6 where He speaks of how He takes care of the birds and if He takes care of them then He will surely take care of me. Thank you Jesus. So I stopped worrying and just started praying and believing. We were told that some of us may have to interview for our positions if someone at our counter company has the same position. Well I just started to pray and said Lord, you know that right now I'm doing two jobs because of the two functions I manage and I would like to have focus on one job and I don't want to interview for it. After all, I've not been on an interview for more than 20 years. So I started to just pray and asked the Lord to give me my job without my having to interview. Ha, this week I received a call from my new boss informing me that not only do I not have to interview but I have a job and it's the one I wanted. Thank you Jesus.
Well the week has been awesome and was topped off by a wonderful, spirit filled weekend. Friday night I went to a prayer vigil at this church I've been visiting. Now mind you the Lord connected me to this church about 5 years ago but I've been visiting them more lately and I was so, so blessed this weekend. It's not a big church by numbers but it's huge in Spirit. The Friday night vigil was packed with youth and adults - what a blessing. I'd say there were easily about 80 people there. Everyone came with one purpose in mind, to lift up the prayers that were placed in a prayer box last week for which many had been fasting all week. On Friday night after much prayer the prayer petitions were burnt like a sweet offering onto the Lord. What a wonderful experience. The Pastor had his leaders all come forth with a word. He himself didn't even preach but every leader that came up with a word was just amazing and truly anointed of the Lord. I was so blessed. Fast forward to today. Today was a youth concert at the church and I was just blown away. The youth were giving honor and glory to Lord in their way whether it was rock music, rap music, contemporary music, dance and all the music was original - music and lyrics written by them. Wow, it was amazing. Nikki too was blessed. I just love to see youth on fire for God and blessing the Lord with the talents He has given them. Some of these kids are multi-talented and can sing and play several different instruments. I'm just so amazed to see God at work in these children. Well, that was my weekend and I'm just so thankful to have been blessed of the Lord and to have been in His presence in such an awesome way. Thank you Jesus for what you are doing in me. He is definitely stretching me by putting me in uncomfortable situations. I really don't know anyone at this church (other than the Pastor and his wife) so that can be uncomfortable but I know Jesus, He's there and He knows me and that's the only one I really need to know is Jesus. I have no idea yet what the Lord is going to do; whether He's going to leave me at this church or take me elsewhere but for now, He has me there being refreshed and challenged so I'm just following His lead cause after all - He has the wheel.
